From the President
Hello GSA Families,
I’m excited to share that I’ve been elected President of the Greater Southwest Association (GSA) Rec Club.
I’ve been involved with GSA since 2018 as a softball coach and currently serve as our Softball Assistant Athletic Director (since 2023). Over the years, I’ve also coached soccer and basketball, and I care deeply about the role youth sports play in helping kids grow — not just as athletes, but as confident, resilient teammates and individuals.
I want to sincerely thank outgoing President Ed Sparrow, who first brought me into the club as a coach and has given many years of dedicated service to GSA. His leadership and commitment to our kids and families have made a lasting difference.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, coaches, and families for everything you do to support GSA. I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful to be serving this community.
As part of our focus on improving communication and supporting the continued growth of GSA, we currently have a few open board positions — including Vice President and Communications Coordinator. If you’re interested in getting more involved or want to learn more about these roles, we’d love to hear from you. More information will be shared soon, but feel free to reach out in the meantime.
Best regards,
Dave Sharrer
President, GSA Rec Club
